It is now The Rather ~~Difficult~~ Slow Font Game, because you really have to wait to be taken to the next typeface everytime.

Anyways, this is a simple and nice little typographic game.
I scored 34 out of 34, winning...the 13th place in the Hall of Fame.

So, you take it for a spin.

Some people ffffound to be a great resource for visual inspiration sharing, but you need to be invited first and invites are very precious and rare things.

Sound of color

If you like music and you like colors also, you will find the new campaign for Gap's Spring 2008 collection very nice.

Gap, the big American clothing company, together with the production company Rehab, approached five bands and singers and asked them to write a song based on a specific colour.
So we have The Blakes with blue, Dntel of The Postal Service with red, Swizz Beats was given green, lovely Marié Digby took on yellow and The Raveonettes opted for black/white.

Once all the songs were completed, five directors took on the job to create videos to accompany them, with just a rule in mind - that the video they create should reflect the colour associated with the track they've been given. The rest was up to the directors.

So as a result we can enjoy a dedicated website - SOUND OF COLOR with all the videos, making ofs, interviews, information about the bands and very useful information about the colours too. Also the songs can be downloaded to be enjoyed offline too (while on the subway maybe).
I like the most Marié Digby's song and also the very simple and nice video.

Great project to promote the Gap brand while promoting some indie artists, simply promoting colors and making original content.
And although I don't buy Gap, I like this kind of stuff and the brand.

Be Kind Rewind virals

First, the official trailer of this movie was pretty hilarious, then came Michel Gondry's Sweded trailer - a spoof of the original trailer.
And as an answer to Michel, we got Jack Black in the store with a viral called Rubiks to challenge Michel at solving Rubik cubes faster.

Designing Happy is a set of guidelines, for design practice and design education, which identifies some key tips that design work can incorporate so that the design is better positioned to be productive in the manifestation of happiness and contibute to our wellbeing.

A design research project asking what design makes you happy and what design makes you unhappy. Simple, fun, plenty of insights will spring from it for sure.

Can't wait to see the findings!

Already you can see on Designing Happy website some happy and some unhappy designs. Prints, logos, colours, even a Citroen car. Added Apple's Might Mouse with the happy design gallery myself.

Hillman Curtis released yet again a great short movie, this time featuring the famous design partnership Pentagram.

Paula Scher's initial presentation of Pentagram partner's history is simple beautiful.
And, if I brought her up, she commented recently I don’t think countries should have logos. Logos are for corporations. after being asked by CNTraveller.com to participate in a rebranding exercise for her country of choice and she chose to rebrand Slovenia.

Watch the Pentagram short by Hillman Curtis.
You will like it.
After Paula Scher and Milton Glaser great features, Hillman did it again.

Deezer Music on demand

Deezer is the best thing for online music since Napster.
For the past week, I ignored Winamp or 1.fm entirely!

The concept is simple: free music on demand.

Like they put it:
"Our concept is simple:
-Give consumers a full and free access to all their favourite songs
-Pay artists and their producers through a revenue share based on our advertising revenues
- Help discovering new artists through a wide audience"

You can find both commercial mainstream and underground or indie artists. Search for them, or browse alphabetically, find the ones you like, then just click on play and listen. Simple, simple concept.

Its all free and legal, paying from advertisements. So click on some ads to support them.

PULCOMAYO has the most-insane-and-at-the-same-time-funny intro animation I've seen in a while!

Vincent Béchet does some great characters illustration and design btw. He is one of my favorite character designers starting...now! Hehe!
